PAU Holds Training on 'Instrumentation in Nanotechnology’
One-month training on "Instrumentation in nanotechnology" is being orgnised from 19 th June - 18th July, 2017 at Electron Microscopy and Nanoscience Lab, Department of Soil Science, PAU, Ludhiana.
Course specification:
The aim of this training is to acquaint and train the participants about the Instruments / techniques involved in characterization of nanomaterials. The course offers a unique curriculum of classroom lectures and laboratory orientation / practicals with an opportunity to discuss daily topics / problems with the instructors.
The broad topics of the training are listed below
- Introduction to Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials
- Nanomaterial characterization tools
Electron microscopy techniques
Spectroscopy characterisation techniques
- Light microscopy tools and variants to assess the effect of nanomaterial application
- Applications of nanomaterials in varied fields with special reference to commercialized products
Eligibility:
Application are invited from students pursuing Ph.D. degree in life sciences or master's degree in physical / life sciences and bachelors in Engineering duly forwarded by the head of the department or their major advisors along with the brief resume.
The applicant should state clearly the nature of the research project in which he/she is involved (in 200 words) and why this training as necessary for pursuing further research.
