Agriculture Awards: National Bio-Science awards by Ministry of Science and Technology
National Bio-Science awards for career development are sponsored by Central Government- Ministry Science and Technology, Dept. of Bio-Technology.
This award given to young scientists with outstanding contribution in basic and applied research including biosciences, agriculture, biomedicine and environmental biology. Up to 10 awards are given each year subject to the availability of suitable candidates. Each award carries a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000/- and a trophy along with a citation and a project research grant of Rs 15,00,000/- @ Rs 5,00,000/- per year for a period of three years for career development.
Eligibility criteria
- Any Citizen of India including Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), who is engaged in basic and applied research in the areas of biosciences and biotechnology in the country.
- Citizens of India should have made significant and outstanding contribution in the areas of biosciences/biotechnology during last 5 years and the work must have been done entirely in India. In case of OCIs, he/she should have made significant and outstanding contribution in the areas of biosciences/biotechnology while continuously staying and working for a period of 3 years in India or during their stay and work in India in total period of 5 years in piece meal basis over a period of 10 years. The work for which nomination is made must have been carried out in India.
- Candidate should submit a research project for advancement of his/her work in India for a period of next 3 years. OCIs have to stay and work in India for implementation of the proposed research project.
- He/she should be below the age of 45 years as on 31st December of the year of award.

Agriculture College Awards - Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalay
National Award for Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jagdalpur (Bastar), IGKV, Raipur : Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya has been felicitated by two reputed and prestigious national awards. In a graceful function at Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi held on 16th July, 2011. These award were given in presence of Hon‟ble Central Minister of Agriculture & Cooperation, Shri Sharad Pawar and Hon‟ble Central Minister of State, Dept. of Agriculture and Food Processing, Shri Charan Das Mahant. The other dignitaries like Director General, ICAR, Dr. S. Ayappan along with all DDG, ADG, Vice-Chancellor of many universities, secretaries, Govt. of India & others were also present in the function.
The award were received by Hon‟ble Vice-Chancellor of IGKV Dr. M.P. Pandey and Programme Coordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bastar Dr. S.C. Mukherjee.
