PAU Student Attended International Short Course Training in Netherlands
Pushpa Dhami, Ph.D. research scholar in the Department of Food and Nutrition, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) recently attended international short course training on “Linking emergency aid to food and nutrition security", at the Centre for Development Innovation, Wageningen UR which took place in NETHERLANDS.
The objective of this course was to provide professionals working in the field of food and nutrition security and emergency aid with knowledge, skills and motivation, to strengthen, design and implement programmes and interventions with attention to sustainable food and nutrition security.
She was awarded “Netherland Fellowship Programme (NFP)” funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the budget for development cooperation. Twenty participants from nine countries were selected for this training program.
Pushpa Dhami is pursuing Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr Harpreet Kaur and Dr. Kiran Bains, Deptt. of Food and Nutrition, PAU. She is working on “Development and evaluation of Emergency relief Foods (ERF) for disaster hit evacuees”.
She said this training was imperative to give her new directions for her existing research work. She is also a recipient of “INSPIRE” fellowship funded by DST, Government of India, for doctoral research.
Dr Anita Kochhar, Head of Department of Food and Nutrition congratulated the student for this achievement and said more students should participate and get exposure through such trainings.
