PAU Engineers Bag International Project
Ludhiana: The two engineers of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have bagged an international project titled “Decision Support System to Estimate Water Requirements for the Major Crops.” Dr Rakesh Sharda, Senior Extension Specialist, Department of Soil and Water Engineering, and Er Chetan Singla, Assistant Agricultural Engineer working under Director (Farm) are the engineers who bagged an international project.
The scientists from the Department of Soil and Water Engineering, PAU and Central Laboratory for Agricultural Climate, Agricultural Research Centre, Cairo would jointly work on developing a tool for improving water use efficiency.
In frame work of bilateral scientific and technological cooperation between India and Egypt, this is one project which has been selected by the Department of Science and Technology, India and Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Egypt out of 120 based on scientific merit, national priority of both the countries and scientific strengths of the project coordinators.
For their success and consistent hard work, Dr P.S. Brar, Director (Farm) and Dr Rajan Aggarwal, Head, Department of Soil and Water Engineering, PAU congratulated the engineers.
