NAU secured rank in India’s top 10 agricultural universities

SURAT: Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) has secured rank among India’s top 10 agriculture universities for 2017 as per the ranking given by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.

In a communiqué, NAU said the ICAR ranking is primarily based on performance of students in various national-level examinations like JRF, SRF, NET and ARS, number of projects bagged from different organizations, varieties notified and technologies developed, extension activities for farming community, citation index for papers published and awards won.

In all, 63 state agricultural universities (SAUs), central agricultural universities (CAS) and ICAR–deemed universities participated in the ranking.

“The ranking will help us get more grant from the government to carry out projects on a larger scale,” said C J Dungaria, vice-chancellor, NAU.
