Adopt Floriculture and Landscaping as Profession: PAU Expert
The concluding function of one-year certificate course in Floriculture and Landscaping and six-month course on ornamental nursery production was held in the Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).
Dr D.S. Bhatti, Additional Director of Extension Education, who was the chief guest, congratulated the trainees and motivated them to adopt floriculture and landscaping as a profession due to its tremendous scope amidst changing lifestyle and awareness among the people.
Dr H.S. Grewal, Head, Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, thankfully acknowledged the efforts of the university administration in starting the courses for training the unemployed youth for entrepreneurship development. He encouraged the trainees to spread awareness about this course among matric-and grade-twelve pass outs to motivate them to undertake the training at PAU.
Dr Parminder Singh, Associate Professor of Floriculture, said landscaping and nursery production can also be adopted as business enterprise for earning livelihood. He highlighted the potential job avenues in government and public sector.
