The College of Agriculture, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana is all set to hold its 56th Annual Alumni Meet tomorrow, i.e. 1st February, 2019. Swaran Singh Atwal , the oldest alumnus of the College ( born in 1921) will grace the event as Chief Guest, while PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr B.S. Dhillon will be the Guest of Honour.
The meet will be attended by a large number of ex students of the college settled in various countries across the globe. Prominent among the alumni attending the event are Gurmeet Singh Sandhu from Australia, Kamalpreet Singh Bassi from Canada, Jasveer Singh Cheema and Nirmal Singh Randhawa.
It is worth mentioning that the College of Agriculture, PAU is not just the oldest agricultural institution of Punjab, it is the oldest in the entire country; the college roots can be traced back to Faislabad Agricultural University, Pakistan.
Divulging details about the programme, Dean, College of Agriculture, Dr S.S. Kukal informed that the inaugural session in the morning will be followed by an interaction between the students and alumni of the college.
The highlight of the event will be a colourful cultural programme and felicitation of outstanding students of the college. While inviting the college alumni to show enthusiastic participation at the event dr Kukal informed that the event will witness the release of three books as well.
