ICAR going to set up floriculture institute at Rajahmundry
To identify suitable location for setting up a floriculture institute, a team of officials from Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) visited Rajahmundry in East Godavari.
The institute is likely to start functioning from Central Tobacco Research Institute (CTRI) here and farm operations may follow once the required land is acquired for it, according to a press release issued by Rajahmundry MP M Murali Mohan last night.
"On the instructions of Minister (Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh), a team of senior scientists headed by Krishna Kumar DDG Horticulture and ADG Janakiram from ICAR yesterday visited the premises of CTRI and its farm along with some other prime location on the outskirts of Rajahmundry," the release said.
