03 April 2023 - The Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, Ludhiana, organized a basic training on Food Safety (FOSTaC) for certification as Food Safety Supervisor, on 18.03.2023 (online mode).
Around 70 participants from different organizations like PAU, Ludhiana; Dr. YSP UHF, Solan; CSHPKV, Palampur; and PU, Chandigarh attended the training programme. The trainees were familiarized with various laws and regulations related to the production and handling of food. They were also enlightened about the safety measures to be taken inside the food industry premises. The importance of HACCP implementation in the food industry and its impact on food quality and safety was also emphasized. Deserving candidates were awarded certificates after an online evaluation process.
