18 Jan 2023 - Mr Kartik Sharma, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has qualified Agricultural Research Services (ARS) examination with the first rank in an unreserved category and overall second rank and has got selected for the post of Scientist-Agronomy in ICAR.

Mr Sharma is pursuing Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr Sohan Singh Walia, Principal Agronomist, School of Organic Farming, PAU. During his research on “Evaluation of different components of livestock based integrated farming system for enhancing farmers’ income,” he worked on integrated farming system for enhancing the income of marginal farmers having one acre of land. He also worked on a multilayer farming system for enhancing the income of fruit growers.

The Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal; Dean, Postgraduate Studies Dr Sandeep Bains; Registrar Dr Shammi Kapoor; Additional Director Communication Centre Dr T.S. Riar and Head of the Department of Agronomy Dr Makhan Singh Bhullar appreciated the committed efforts made by the student for clearing the exam and wished him all success in his future research endeavors.
