PAU Students Shine at Student Research Convention

Ms Sujata Thakur and Ms Shaina Jain of College of Agriculture and College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, PAU respectively, bagged first prizes for their original project proposals at Anveshan- 2019 held at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Sonepat from 16-17 January, 2019.

Ms. Sujata Thakur presented ‘Development of genomics platform in guava (psedium guajava L.) for Marker Assisted Breeding’ and Ms. Shaina Jain presented ‘Knowledge, practices and problems of waste and by-products management: A study of paddy growing farmers of Punjab’. They will now represent PAU at the National level students’ convention to be held in March 2019 at Ganpati University, Gujarat. PAU students Ms Manmeet Kaur and Ms Kripa Seth also participated in the convention.

The Dean, Postgraduate Studies, Dr G.K. Sangha congratulated the students for their commendable performance and thanked the teachers for mentoring and motivating students towards excellence.

She also informed that the Research Division of Association of Indian Universities has taken a pioneering initiative to organize Student Research Conventions for the aspiring researchers throughout the country who would be promoted through proper encouragement and incentives.
