National seminar on Issues, challenges and strategies in sustaining soil health by KFRI

The 68th UN General Assembly declared the year 2015 as the International Year of Soils. KFRI is celebrating the International Year of Soils by creation of awareness and dissemination of information on the sustainable management of our finite soil resources.

As part of these celebrations KFRI organising a national seminar. The main intention behind this seminar is to bring together scientists, professionals, students, NGOs and other stake holders to deliberate on various aspects of soils and develop strategies for their sustainable management.

Soil is a finite natural and non-renewable resource. It serves as the base for production of food, fuel, fodder, fibre and a range of life sustaining ecosystem functions.

The seminar will bring together researchers, governmental and non-governmental organisations and various other stakeholders across the country on a single platform to discuss the “Issues, challenges and strategies in sustaining soil health”.
