Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) Programme aims to provide rural entrepreneurship awareness, practical experience in real-life situation in rural agriculture and creating awareness to undergraduate students about practical home science, agriculture and alied sciences.

The programme will help in building confidence, skill and acquire Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK) of the locality and thereby, preparing the passed out students for self employment. It also aims to provide opportunities to acquire hands-on-experience and entrepreneurial skill and reorient graduates of SAU's for ensuring and assuring employability.

The one year Student Ready Programme has five components viz, Experiential Learning, Skill Development Training, Rural Awareness Work Experience (RAWE), Internship/ In-plant training and Student Projects. The students are required to take up three of the five components listed above, as per the requirements of the Under Graduate Degree.

This being a new concept introduced in the ICAR V Deans Committee Syllabus, common guidelines and modalities need to be developed for uniformity in implementation of this programme in all SAU's. The faculty involved in offering Student READY need to be oriented about the various components involved in organizing the programme, towards successful implementation of the programme.
