Model Training Course on 'ICT in Agriculture'
Model Training Course on "Information and Communication Technology in Agriculture" sponsored by a Central Government was inaugurated in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on 20th October, 2016.
A varsity release said that, from development departments, like agriculture, horticulture, sericulture and seed certification, twenty scientists attended this eight day training program.
The practical utility of ICT Tools especially for informing the farming community about outbreak of pests and diseases in various crops, was highlighted by the university Vice-Chancellor, Dr K Ramasamy in his inaugural address.
The importance of extension programmes like Intensive Agricultural District Programme, Training and Visit System, Tamil Nadu Women in Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Management Agency besides their role in transfer of technology, etc. are also outlined by Dr K Ramasamy.
